MARIJUANA and its banned enlightment in india

Drug war has been very streched topic  in all tbe parts,of the world including singapore,US.Since these past years the Indian youth is drug addicted. Heroin, Opium, Alcohol, Cannabis and Propoxyphene are the five most common drugs being abused by children in India. In Punjab(a state) the numbers are ridiculous—nearly 75% of its youth are severely addicted to drugs, that’s 3 out of every 4 children.Mumbai, Hyderabad and other cities around the country are quickly gaining a reputation for their drug usage; and the population in each of these cities continues to grow.Delhi is filled with rehab centres trying to keep up with the flow of addicts.
Before I tell my views one should know that after withstanding the United States' pressure for 25 years, India finally gave into the demands of its Western counterpart in 1986 by clubbing marijuana with other hard drugs and criminalizing it.Before this pressure India was Eden of drugs. The famous Bhang is written about in the Vedic texts - the drink of the gods.  Bhang is taken during festivals and even given to children. Bhang Lassi is a famous drink served in Rajasthan that is made from milk and marijuana. It is typical to see the Hindu Sadhus, wandering ascetics, who smoke a chillum and seem to be immune to local laws. Their consumption was never regarded as socially deviant behaviour any more than drinking alcohol was . In india .Marijuana has been used  for thousand of years long before European alcohol and tobacco from America arrived and it was even used by God Shiva.
So in India, the government passed the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act in the year 1985. The Act classifies marijuana(ganja) to be a narcotic drug. What is illegal according to the Act:stating that:-
"Engaging in the production, manufacture, possession, sale, purchase, transportation, warehousing, concealment, use or consumption, import inter-State, export inter-State, import into India, export from India or transhipment

The Cannabis (Marijuana) plant is used in three ways :

1. Charas : Made from the resin of the plant.

2. Ganja : Prepared from the flower part.

3. Bhang : A paste made from the leaves and seeds of the plant.

The Act included only the flowering and fruiting tops of the plant in the definition of 'cannabis', and left out the seeds and plants from its purview. It banned the production and sale of cannabis resin and flowers, but permitted the use of the leaves and seeds.
So essentially, Charas and Ganja were made illegal but Bhang is allowed to be produced, sold and consumed.
However All the cannabis(bhang) produced should be directly sold to government only, and without any involvement of a third party acting as an intermediary.Only government-licenced Bhang shops are allowed to sell Bhang, and consumers can legally purchase Bhang from there only.People can possess Bhang for personal consumption only and cannot commercially sell it to another person. Possession of any amount equal to or more than 1 kg will be deemed as commercial, and is liable for punishment. A person can legally possess any amount which is less than 1 kg.
But everyone knows that such laws are not strictly enforced which makes for a throbbing underground drug industry.Making it illegal is not at all helping for a country with 1.252 billion population.
Prohibition has failed to control the use and domestic production of marijuana.A backlash movement has grown steadily in recent years which holds that prohibition rather than helping the world has created vast and powerful criminal networks and endless cycles of violence.Also;

1.Making marijuuuana illegal there is a high incidence of charging children under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. thus destroying their future.
2.Its leading to Black Market Violence: Violence resulting from black markets for drugs (which would not occur if drugs were taxed and regulate)
3. Being a banned substance, the farmers are forced to sell it at a very cheap price to the drug dealers and they face additional pressure from the police as well, who are paid to destroy the cannabis plantations.
4.The youths are severely getting damaged because they take it in uncertain amounts due to of lack of knowledge and since it is illegal
Moreover marijuana grows wild across the country as a hardy weed, it is difficult for the Narcotic Control Bureau, set up under NDPS, or the local police to check people from imbibing the forbidden tops.
One shoukd know that It was a poor law that clubbed marijuana, hashish and bhang with hard drugs like smack, heroin, cocaine and crack, and banned them all.  The banking of marijuana is causing more illeffects than profit
So what motion i want to raise?
Simply this-"To make marijuana,legal(every part of it).Why?Because
First, The pressing realities that making it illegal there has still been no profit have left behind the most powerful evidence that change is needed.
Second legalising it will be the most effective way to decrease rate of young drug and alcohol addicts(the biggest problem)
Any benefit?
First of all Marijuana or Ganja, charas(hashis) and bhang don't have obvious medical negatives and don't lead to addiction or violent behaviour (which alcohol may be accused of doing).Marijuana is a psychedelic drug.Psychedelic drugs also called psychotropic or psychoactive affect the central nervous system.Vast majority of psychedelic drugs(the morning glory,LSD and of course marijuana) are actually not lethal. This means that, even when taken in very large doses they do not kill the user; known for their hallucinogenic and out-of-body effects in which they alter users' sensory perception while they are active.
Secindly, Other benefits… India can get.
1.Marijuana legalization (or decriminalization) will replace the black market production and distribution with an 'overboard industry
2.Medical cannabis(Marijuana) helpes alleviate common ailments like joint and chronic pain, allowing them to be more active. It treats glaucoma, prevents cancer from spreading to other parts of the body, reduces anxiety, slows the progress of Alzheimer's disease, improves metabolism and is even said to spur creativity in our brain.
3. By legalizing and taxing marijuana, the government will stand to earn huge amounts of revenue are .Inspiring view.
4. It will create job opportunities. There are a plethora of jobs that can be created by the marijuana industry and help reduce India's unemployment rate.
5. Legalization will ensure that good quality marijuana is sold to the consumers.

Third, Apart from financial the most amazing benefit of marijuana is in its- ENLIGHTMENT view. Psychedelics, the class of hallucinogen drugs, bring on certain unusual effects not found through other types of drugs. With most all other drug types, users maintain their grasp on reality while experiencing a drug’s effects. With psychedelics, users seek out a very definite break with reality. It has recreational benefits which we need to experience. However, Moderation is the key.,taking in right amounts leads to period of increased reactivity in subconscious. You are immediately plunged into dialog with you own subconscious. Things, start to erupt ,emerge. All of a,sudden you are overwhelmed, you start asking mysteries of the universe. You experience eternal joy,you become enlightened and your knowledge of this universe increases. This I more than just an experience. Its,like seeking path of Buddha in a hectic schedule life. Its finding peace from all the negative soiet is offering. Marijuana is a gentle mood-altering relaxant
So since marijuana laws are outdated and more harmful than the drug itself. Instead of spending money on arresting drug offenders and cutting down marijuana plantations, why can't our government save itself from all this trouble and legalize a culturally accepted substance that can help in socio-economic development of the country? . Especially, when there is no social or cultural rejection of them. On the contrary, it is a way of life in our country.
And last but not the least by legalising it the "youths" or general public will become knowledgable about its benefits and educated on how to take it in right amounts instead of becoming addicted. The many other more fatal addictions like alcohol and cocaine /narcotics can be decreased very effectively.
